Description

Tapenax ER 50mg (tapentadol hydrochloride extended-release formulation) is a highly effective pain analgesic, opioid, which is used in the management of chronic pain, namely trigeminal neuralgia, among others. It is also effective in the analgesia of diabetic neuropathy. Tapentadol is a centrally acting, extended-release tablet, which is the active pharmacologic agent in the Tapenax tablet.

The Tapenax ER 50mg indication is only meant for patients who need unstructured, round-the-clock analgesia in cases where the pain level is not well put in check by other types of analgesics. The extended-release tablet is mainly used to manage the long-term treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, which is mostly prescribed by clinicians. The medication has its action with the inhibition of nociceptive transmission along central neural pathways.
